The 11 rookery charts () included in this archive were scanned from a book published by the U.S. Government (Townsend b). The rookery maps were created from the aerial transparencies series (Johnson, Simon and Fowler, in prep). Data: Tag release and recovery data are stored in the NMFS Alaska Sablefish Tag Database. Analysis of tag data is the primary method used to study sablefish movements. The results show that sablefish are highly migratory for at least part of their lives, and their movement rates are great enough to affect the amount of fish available for harvest in an area.

Prior to the Fishery Conservation and Management Act(FCMA) of , foreign fisheries in the eastern Bering Sea were managed by bilateral agreements beginning in By –74, catch quotas were placed on eastern Bering Sea pollock, but . Last updated: PM PDT Definitions. Group A ages Bering Sea and Aleutian Island walleye pollock, rockfish, and forage fish. Group B ages flatfish, Gulf of Alaska walleye pollock, Pacific cod, Atka mackerel, sablefish, and sculpins.

The fishery for Pacific ocean perch developed nearly synchronously throughout the U.S. west coast to the Bering Sea. The Gulf of Alaska fishing history captures a typical catch history: A Pacific ocean perch trawl fishery by the U.S.S.R. and Japan began in the Gulf of Alaska in the early 's. Nearshore fish and macroinvertebrate assemblages along the Strait of Juan de Fuca including food habits of the common nearshore fish: final report of three years' sampling, by Bruce S Miller (Book) 4 editions published between and in English and held by WorldCat member libraries worldwide.

The eastern Bering Sea shelf is essentially a large, featureless plain that deepens gradually from the shore to about m at the shelf break. However, there are two zones of enhanced gradients near the 50 and m isobaths (Askren, ), related to fronts separating the shelf region into three oceanographic domains.
